YVONNE Spencer of the Woodlarks Centre had cause to celebrate as she embarked on her first solo voyage with Sailabilty at Frensham Pond on April 28 having passed her silver award.

It has always been Yvonne’s wish to learn to sail independently, and she said of her award: “I am very happy with this achievement and I can’t wait to be sailing alone on the Hansa dinghy, also I would like to give my sincere thanks to my instructors.”

Yvonne was totally unfazed last year when her boat capsized, and this was then credited towards her award and a practice capsize was not required.

The Woodlarks Centre also congratulated Yvonne on her achievement and thanked Sailability’s volunteers.
