MORE than 100 children aged two to 13 attended Farnham Town Council’s free Bloomin’ Kids gardening workshops over the Easter holidays.

The workshops, which aim to inspire the next generation of gardeners, were led by town council staff and volunteers from the Farnham in Bloom community group and included activities such as seed sowing, pricking out and planting sunflowers and making a diary to record their progress.

The children were able to take home some of the plants they had potted including peas and rocket and a goody bag which included gardening activities to try at home.

Other flowers that the children planted will be nurtured by town council staff and will make an appearance later this spring in one of Farnham in Bloom’s many floral displays.
