Aldershot Town reached the third round of the Hampshire Senior Cup with an emphatic 6-2 win at Alresford Town.

Goals from Marcus Wyllie (3), Alfonso Tenconi, Elijah Oladunjoye and Sam Hards secured the Shots’ progress in front of a crowd of 603 at Arlebury Park.

The Shots took the lead in the 18th minute when Wyllie received the ball on the edge of the box and twisted and turned around several markers before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top left-hand corner of the net.

Aldershot doubled their advantage three minutes later when Tenconi did well down the left and fired a low ball into the box towards Jacob Borgnis, whose touch took the ball towards the back post where Wyllie made no mistake.

Tenconi made it 3-0 on 23 minutes when he received the ball in the penalty area and took a touch before confidently slotting home.

Aldershot went 4-0 up when Tom Neail delivered an inch-perfect cross to the back post, where Wyllie was waiting to complete his hat-trick.

The Shots nearly had a fifth when Ollie Harfield’s free-kick found Jack Matton, whose header crashed against the bar.

Alresford were awarded a penalty just before half-time, and defender Alfie Jones stepped up from the spot and fired his penalty past Shots keeper Charlie Patmore into the top right-hand corner of the net to make it 4-1.

The Magpies scored a second on 68 minutes when Billy Grimes’ effort from distance beat Patmore and found the back of the net to make it 4-2.

The Shots restored their three-goal advantage late on when Tenconi’s effort was saved by Alresford keeper Harry Nash and the rebound fell to Hards, who finished emphatically to score on his first-team debut.

Aldershot scored their sixth in stoppage time when Jacob Chrismas’ driven cross found Oladunjoye, whose backheel beat Nash.
