Farnham Town have sold striker Sam Evans to Isthmian League South Central Division outfit Kingstonian for an undisclosed fee.
The deal sees Farnham retain a sell-on clause.
Evans joined Farnham in March 2025 from National League South side Slough Town as the club’s record signing and first player bought for a transfer fee.
The 24-year-old striker scored on his first start for the Town in a 5-1 win away at Ascot United and followed that up with a goal and an assist in a 6-0 home win over Rayners Lane before a wrist injury caused him to miss the final six games of the campaign.
Ahead of his first full season with Farnham Town, Evans was awarded the number nine shirt for the club’s first season at Step 3 in the Southern League Premier South.
Evans provided 20 goal contributions in 45 appearances last season, including 14 goals, as the Town won promotion to the National League South via the play-offs.
He scored five goals in three games in Farnham’s successful Surrey Senior Cup campaign, including all four goals in the Town’s second round victory against Kingstonian.
Evans scored three goals in 12 appearances for the Town this season, including Farnham’s first goal in the National League South at Dagenham & Redbridge in August.
In total, Evans amassed 61 appearances for Farnham Town, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists.
“I’ve enjoyed getting to know Sam over the past 18 months and he will always be remembered fondly by everyone associated with Farnham Town,” said Farnham Town chairman Harry Hugo.
“As the first player we ever bought, we had a lot of belief in Sam’s ability to be a difference maker for us and I think it’s fair to say that during his time with us he made a lasting impression and contributed to some historic moments.
“It’s become tough for us to guarantee minutes and opportunities for Sam. We had considerable interest come in for him in recent days, including from the National League South and the Southern League Premier South. We explored all options with Sam, both loan and permanent exits.
“A recent change in Sam’s work and living situation meant he was incredibly selective about his next move in football. It had to be right for him to align with those changes as well as being a club that were going to afford him the opportunity to play regularly.
“Moving to Kingstonian made a lot of sense, having just moved close to the area himself, and he has the chance to settle in and really leave his mark.
“I’m incredibly thankful for everything Sam has given Farnham Town since he arrived. We wish him well and look forward to following his career moving forward.”
